Judgemental people make me sick!

Today I was out and about and I was just waiting for the tramway to arrive. Like a normal bored teenager, I decided to take a look around me and observe what is going on rather than stay with my nose in my iPhone.

I sadly observed how judgemental some people are. I saw a woman around 25 years old, looking up and down with disgust everyone that was passing by her.

Of course I might be wrong, but I am 99% sure that she was judging the people around her. Why? I don’t know… How is she better than anyone else and has the right to judge what others look like or what they wear? I don’t know.

And this woman’s actions made me curious about how many people do what she is doing. And to my utter disgust, I observed that a lot of people were doing the same thing.

I am pretty sure that I got some of those stares too, and I am also pretty sure that you had the same thing happen to you even if it was once or twice.

Somehow I think that by observing these people judge others, made me judge them also. And this thought makes me feel sick as well. I am in no position to say what someone should do, but I just couldn’t stop thinking about their actions.

What I mean to say is that no one is in a position to say or think what others should: think, do, look like, wear etc. It is so rude to stare people up and down just because you think you are better than they are. You are not! We are all equals and we should respect that. It is horrible that we cannot help ourselves of doing this, but even if it is impossible, we can still be discreet about it and not stare like we are at the zoo.

If someone judges you, stay confident and don’t pay them any attention! Judging is just another form of bullying and it is in no way any better or less hurtful. You are who you are and that makes you ten thousand times better than the one who cannot keep their little judgemental mind to themselves. Haters gonna hate no matter what…

Sorry if this little ramble seemed too random and out of place. I did not intend on writing this but I just couldn’t keep myself from doing it after all.

Have a nice day and until next time, stay strong,

Love, Lexi xoxoxo!!

Today I found the most amazing thing ever! I found the 100 day challenge.

This project challenges you to take a picture everyday, for a hundred days in a row, with what makes you happy. I found this thought very challenging so I decided to give it a try.

Here you can access the site and start the challenge as well!

I will be posting my happy pictures starting from Friday,11th of April on my instagram that you are invited to follow. 😀 Although my thought was to post this only on instagram…once in maybe…2 weeks, or even earlier, I will gather the pictures from that time frame and will post them here on my blog as well.

Sorry for the short ramble but I really felt like sharing.

Have an extraordinary day! 🙂

Amazing friends over the seas!!! -part 3- & a great day.

Today. Today was a good day. And frankly, lately I didn’t have any reasons to say this, but today really was good!

After a long day of school I went with my best friend and took a walk down our dyke and went to the mall. And obviously I just had to stop at the bookshop there and decided to treat myself with a book that I wanted for so long that I can’t even remember when, The Fault in Our Stars.

After buying it I stayed with my friend and had a chat over a drink. Once we decided that it was time to leave, I went home and there was a package waiting for me.

Yes. Once again, I’ve been the honor to get a package from a dear friend. The amazing surprise consisted of two amazing books that I’ve also wanted for a long time, those being The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and The Selection.

I just want to thank Carol again for sending me these two books. I’m not sure that she actually knows how much this means to me! I appreciate this gesture so much that I cannot find words to express myself. So, thank you, for again making me feel so thankful and happy!

I wish I didn’t bore you with this post, but honestly, this was a very exciting day for me and I am so happy that this day turned out so well! How was your day? Did you enjoy it?

Until next time, probably with a book review,

Lexi xxxxxxxxxx! 🙂

P.S. Thank you again, Carol <3!

Here are the summaries of these titles if any of you are interested [got them directly from Amazon].

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins 1380719_10203269851288552_917938342_n

Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. But there are rumors of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge.

The Selection by Kiera Cass

For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn’t want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.

Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she’s made for herself—and realizes that the life she’s always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.

Dear diary, my birthday was awesome!

Birthdays have always been a major part of a persons existence. At least that’s what I think.

Today was my birthday, and I noticed that as I grow older, I am not as excited as I used to be. Of course, I am still very happy and excited that I survived another year of the hard and stressful teenage life, lol, but I am not that glad that another year passed.

Getting older means growing up and with that come the responsibilities, and I really dread that.

Today has been a good day. I was surrounded by all my favorite people, even though I wish others would have been able to be next to me in this…significant day for me. But everyone had a great time and was smiling, and fortunately no one had a fight today…yay! progress! Tomorrow is the day I invited some of my friends to go have a chat in a caffe, and I really cannot wait. I love being with them when they are all in a good mood. Usually, I am the pacifist and don’t take any parts when my friends fight, but today I had the pleasure of seeing them trying to get along. I doubt they did it intentionally for me, but I appreciate it nonetheless.

I hope that over the years I’ll still be as excited for my birthday as I was today, and I hope that I will still have amazing people around me. Family and friends are and will always be a big part of my life and I hope that I will never lose contact with either of them.

I really didn’t want to make a post about this, but I decided to do it because in 10 years, I want to come back and look over this and see how I feel then about this topic. So, this might look like a thing you’d find in a diary but whatever…

So, cheers to everyone who is celebrating their birthday or anniversary today, and every day for that matter! You are all amazing and I love you!

Until next time,

Lexi! xxxxxxx! 🙂

The Academy Awards 2014

As any person feeling under the weather, that has a day off of school and that day happens to be right before the Oscars, I hugged the opportunity of seeing the famous award show, LIVE from the comfort of my bedroom.

Usually, on a school night, I wouldn’t be allowed to watch any kind of awards LIVE because of the huge time difference between where I live and Hollywood, but I got my folks permission to watch them at the ridiculous our of 2AM until 6AM because I am really ill at the moment so I have the Monday off of school.
I am gradually writing this post as the show goes on. I really don’t want to miss anything that popped out to me during the show. So, I am writing this intro before the shows even started, because I want to have this post posted as soon as I can have it written.

On this beautiful Sunday, I drove my mom crazy with everything that means the Oscars. I just couldn’t shut up about how excited I was to see them LIVE and all that jazz.

A usual question that would follow is “Who do you hope will win?”. Well obviously, my favorite actor that I wish to  FINALLY get his well deserved Oscar is none other than Leo DiCaprio. Surprised? I didn’t think so. I really think that Leo is a favorite of the audience for many years, and I think that we all agree that his performance in The Wolf of Wall Street was maybe one of his best yet, but even so I feel like Matthew McConaughey is a favorite in this category.

My expectations for tonight are quite simple: Ellen to be her usual funny self and for Leo to get that damn Oscar. And yep, that’s pretty much it…

From here on I will document everything that I found interesting, beautiful, annoying and exciting during the show :D. Before I forget to mention it, I am “documenting” everything in my time table and everything I say is according to the streams I have found, so please don’t be too confused, lol! So here we go…

  • 12.05 AM:  The Red Carpet LIVE stream works but nothing interesting is to see.
  • 12.20AM: People are shouting but I am not sure why…also no one interesting appeared on the carpet yet.
  • 12.26AM: The MTV and VH1 stream finally has someone talking on the stream because it became a bit boring.
  • 12.28AM: Benedict Cumberbatch, Jennifer Lawrence and The Wolf of Wall Street are mentioned, talking about excitement…
  • 12.38AM: Have 3 live streams opened, still nothing going on
  • 12.46AM: Just saw an interview with the chef that made the food for the awards-am very hungry!
  • 01.08AM: Getting angry and tired of this…guess all the stars decided to arrive at the last minute; Viola Davis looks amazing!
  • 01.10AM: Cristin Milioti[the first wife of Leo in The Wolf of Wall Street] arrives on the RC, I love her dress!!!!
  • 01.14AM: Mads Mikkelsen arrives on the RC, surprised to see him…looks good-think he had a nice…dinner 😉
  • 01.16AM: Portia de Rossi looks amazing, great dress choice! bet she is proud of Ellen 🙂
  • 01.33AM: Kristen Bell also looks amazing, love her dress!
  • 01.39AM: Kellan Lutz arrives on the RC, he looks YUM! *.* -wearing a suit made out of recycled items
  • 01.42AM: Amy Adams- blue simple dress, very form fitting! loved it!
  • 01.44AM: Anna Kendrick, very chic dress, would have worked better without the slit IMHO.
  • 01.49AM: The bets are lost for those who said Lupita will wear purple, she chose a beautiful sky blue dress. My favorite of all up until now.
  • 01.54AM: Heard the paparazzi saying “Okay, okay, move along, we’ve seen you, go on already”, to a guy that was posing for the red carpet. More than rude…what do you expect from them?
  • 01.59AM: Joseph Gordon Levitt looks his usual great self!
  • 02.05AM: Drooling all over the screen because Jared Leto just arrived and he looks amazing!
  • 02.08AM: Harrison Ford arrived, he looks good for his age!
  • 02.11AM: Benedict Cumberbatch just won my heart…again! Loved his appearance. Hair looks *.*;as always.
  • 02.13AM: Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell just stepped on the carped…Goldie, you are a queen, but that dress…no..
  • 02.16AM: Jessica Biel looks FLAWLESS! love the dress choice!
  • 02.21AM: Michael Fassbander is a heartthrob as usual.
  • 02.22AM: Christoph Waltz, yes my friend, good fashion choice as usual.
  • 02.24AM: Matthew McConaughey arrives on the RC and looks delicious in his white tux!
  • 02.26AM: Charlize Theron, as per usual, breaks hearts with a gorgeous appearance!
  • 02.28AM: Chris Hemsworth is definitely drool worthy! As for his wife…sorry, but I’d fire that image consultant…
  • 02.29AM: Jennifer Lawrence makes her appearance, and not very late after that trips over her own feet on the red carpet. Looks okay in the Dior dress which looks similar to  Amy Adams’, but J Law definitely had better choices in the past.
  • 02.39AM: Spotted Leo DiCaprio and he looks amazing *.*.
  • 02.40AM: Anne Hathaway looks like she’s not aging, wouldn’t have chosen that dress though..
  • 02.43AM: Emma Watson looks GORGEOUS! I can’t  believe I didn’t notice how much I missed seeing her!
  • 02.45AM: All my streams crashed and I want to cry because I cannot find others.
  • 02.50AM: Seen on twitter that Lady Gaga made an appearance in a pink Versace gown…not crazy about it and not sure why she was invited…

After this fun and too long Red Carpet experience, I couldn’t  find any live stream for the actual award show, so I had to go to sleep. I will definitely watch them tomorrow night when the cut and edited version is aired on HBO.

Benedict Cumberbatch was a sweetheart and I couldn’t stop swooning when I listened to his interview. I am pretty sure that he will be a very big actor of his generation and will get his own Academy Awards statue.

A thing that I found repulsive was the way Pharell Williams attended the RC. I have been thought since I’ve been little that shorts are not an appropriate formal wear. Of course, there are many exceptions in Hollywood, but I still found his attire a bit offensive, or better said…inappropriate for such an important event.

All in all, I loved seeing all my favorite stars going down the Red Carpet and seeing interviews and so on. Though I wish The Academy Awards would have had thought about the people who do not live on the American continent and given us at least one live stream. I was pretty disappointed because I stayed up so late to watch this show and couldn’t because people are sometimes careless about situations like this.

When I woke up I was greatly disappointed to find out that Leo did not get his well deserved statuette. Even though I have to admit that Matthew McConaughey played an amazing role and deserved this award, I have to keep my previous opinion that Leo deserved it more…I guess everything is okay because the award went to another actor that I love and respect. Don’t worry Leo, maybe next time 😉 .

Hope you enjoyed my veeeeeeeeery long ramble about the Oscars, and I hope I din’t bore you…too much. Maybe I’ll do a short review of the actual award show as well. We’ll see.

Until next time, lots of hugs,

Lexi xxxxxxxx!

Amazing friends over the seas!!!

At the beginning of the year, a dear friend of mine from Texas asked me what books I have on my wish list. Of course I knew that she had been planning something..

She decided to send me a gift card so I could buy any book that I’d want. And of course her generosity was so big that the gift card was enough for me to buy two books!

I got the second book in the Mortal Instruments series: City of Ashes, and I also got The Hunger Games.

And honestly, this gesture that she did was very meaningful to me, and meant a lot because I feel that she did it from her heart and it makes me happy when I think that I manage to touch people’s hearts in this way.

And again, I want to thank Carol for being so amazing and insisting on sending this gift card! You shouldn’t have, but I thank you again!

Maybe for some people who will read this post will think that I am exaggerating for thanking so much, but to me is a big deal and I feel like I could not thank enough! I appreciate thoughtful things a lot, even if it is a message on my phone, but touches a soft spot in my heart, it would be more than I could ever ask for.

Thank you again Carol, you are one of my best friends and I wish that I could meet you as soon as possible :D. You make my day brighter so many times, and I love whenever you tell me facts about stuff..I really do, lol! Love you lots!! And never change, you have a great personality and you are perfect just the way you are :)!

Until next time,

Lexi xxxxxxxx! 🙂

P.S. I hope this post wasn’t over-the-top sappy, it was just what I felt at the moment and what I wanted to share :)!

P.P.S. I forgot to say how thankful I am for ALL my friends over seas. I have met some amazing people with the help of internet, and I feel like they are the best friends in the world, because they are always there for you no matter what. And most important, they don’t judge me when I’m at my lowest!
