The goodness of people never ceases to amaze me. Yes, once again I have been gifted with something pretty amazing that I cannot thank enough for! And I can once again say that I have the best friends in the world.
When I finished high school a really good friend of mine, that I pretty much consider family, felt an inexplicable urge to send me a humongous gift card. What she sent me was overwhelming and unthinkable, and I cannot say I wasn’t surprised by it because I would be lying.
With that gift card I got the next 3 Harry Potter books I needed, now I need only two more and I have them all, yaaaayyyy. I am sooooo happy with the decision I made!!! It honestly is the best edition of Harry Potter that exists. I got books 3 to 5 and they are absolutely gorgeous.
See what I’m talking about? They are absolutely marvelous, and I cannot wait to start reading them. (I am already half way through Harry Potter and the Prizoner of Azkaban and I can already say that it is better than the first two.)
I cannot thank Carol enough for her kindness. She is truly a one of a kind friend and I don’t know what I would do without her amazing advice or her great knowledge of the world. If I had to stick to three friends for the rest of my life, she would definitely be one of them!
Until next time, take care,
Today. Today was a good day. And frankly, lately I didn’t have any reasons to say this, but today really was good!
After a long day of school I went with my best friend and took a walk down our dyke and went to the mall. And obviously I just had to stop at the bookshop there and decided to treat myself with a book that I wanted for so long that I can’t even remember when, The Fault in Our Stars.
After buying it I stayed with my friend and had a chat over a drink. Once we decided that it was time to leave, I went home and there was a package waiting for me.
Yes. Once again, I’ve been the honor to get a package from a dear friend. The amazing surprise consisted of two amazing books that I’ve also wanted for a long time, those being The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and The Selection.
I just want to thank Carol again for sending me these two books. I’m not sure that she actually knows how much this means to me! I appreciate this gesture so much that I cannot find words to express myself. So, thank you, for again making me feel so thankful and happy!
I wish I didn’t bore you with this post, but honestly, this was a very exciting day for me and I am so happy that this day turned out so well! How was your day? Did you enjoy it?
Until next time, probably with a book review,
Lexi xxxxxxxxxx! 🙂
P.S. Thank you again, Carol <3!
Here are the summaries of these titles if any of you are interested [got them directly from Amazon].
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten.
Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. But there are rumors of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge.
The Selection by Kiera Cass
For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.
But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn’t want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.
Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she’s made for herself—and realizes that the life she’s always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.
Okay, so this is a prize I won for being very active and making a lot of book reviews on this site. Even though this is a thing I “won” for my participation, I am considering it more on the line of a birthday present.
I wanted a Wreck This Journal for a while now, because honestly it looks like so much fun. I plan on making it more an art project than wrecking project but oh well, I guess I will do some destroying as well.
As I did before, I have to thank my lovely friend Bee, who sent this amazing present my way, and also to all the lady’s that are a part of The Hive for having me and accepting me in their group.
I feel blessed to have such awesome friends and to take part to such amazing stuff. I mean, not everyone is as lucky as me to be contacted by a girl one day and asked to join her new private group…I mean…I feel a bit privileged and a bit cocky about it, but I definitely and honestly appreciate that it happened to me.
Without my online friends I wouldn’t have done so much on social media [having a twitter, two tumblrs, a very active facebook, and a blog as well], I might have not even liked to read if it weren’t for them. So again, THANK YOU BEE for being that amazing friend that “recruited” me almost two years ago and being my friend ever since, I love you!!! 🙂
Now onto the journal: I plan on posting two or three pages a week, depending how much time I have on my hands. Obviously, I will only post the creative things rather than the wrecking parts. I really want to have this as a commemorative journal, and I would like to keep the wrecking to a minimum.
Take care and stay safe!!!
Until next time,
Lexi xxxxx! 🙂
At the beginning of the year, a dear friend of mine from Texas asked me what books I have on my wish list. Of course I knew that she had been planning something..
She decided to send me a gift card so I could buy any book that I’d want. And of course her generosity was so big that the gift card was enough for me to buy two books!
I got the second book in the Mortal Instruments series: City of Ashes, and I also got The Hunger Games.
And honestly, this gesture that she did was very meaningful to me, and meant a lot because I feel that she did it from her heart and it makes me happy when I think that I manage to touch people’s hearts in this way.
And again, I want to thank Carol for being so amazing and insisting on sending this gift card! You shouldn’t have, but I thank you again!
Maybe for some people who will read this post will think that I am exaggerating for thanking so much, but to me is a big deal and I feel like I could not thank enough! I appreciate thoughtful things a lot, even if it is a message on my phone, but touches a soft spot in my heart, it would be more than I could ever ask for.
Thank you again Carol, you are one of my best friends and I wish that I could meet you as soon as possible :D. You make my day brighter so many times, and I love whenever you tell me facts about stuff..I really do, lol! Love you lots!! And never change, you have a great personality and you are perfect just the way you are :)!
Until next time,
Lexi xxxxxxxx! 🙂
P.S. I hope this post wasn’t over-the-top sappy, it was just what I felt at the moment and what I wanted to share :)!
P.P.S. I forgot to say how thankful I am for ALL my friends over seas. I have met some amazing people with the help of internet, and I feel like they are the best friends in the world, because they are always there for you no matter what. And most important, they don’t judge me when I’m at my lowest!
Friends come and go as fast as you can say the word and they are in different forms as well.
As this photo very nicely puts it, friends can be of three kinds: friends for a reason; friends for a season; and friends for a lifetime. I can say that I am happy to have had the latter two kinds and I’ll say it with a bit of regret that I have had the first kind as well.
We all know what friends for a reason are. They are the most insufferable people in the world, seeing that they don’t want you as a friend for your moral qualities and personality, but for what material goods you can bring in their favor.
The friends for a season are definitely better than the first kind. Even though I am sad that I have lost them, and we grew apart, I am very happy to have had this kinds of relationships for the memories they gave me and for the great times we have spent together. I cannot be anything but thankful for the seasonal friends that I’ve had :D. Sure, friends for a season can be categorized as friends for a reason as well,
And last but not least, friends for a lifetime, which is such a cheesy phrase, but they do exist. I had the pleasure to have met the most wonderful people in real life AND online. In real life I have two maybe three real friends that I think I’ll keep in touch with all my life. One of those three really knows me and I am not afraid to talk about things that I cannot share with everyone! And online I have met many great people but I think from the whole bunch, I have met eight amazing people that I will remember for the rest of my days and maybe will keep in touch with.
Fun fact: I met a friend in real life, after 3 years of knowing her online-ain’t that cool? 😀
I am proud of having friends all over the world and knowing so many people even though they are friends for a season or for a lifetime. I think that you have to appreciate your friends and love them, no matter if they have flaws or not, because I can assure you that no one is flawless and you will not find the perfect friend. So, try to choose your friends wisely and if you don’t want friends for a reason, than don’t be one. I know that I love my REAL friends, and I know that they might love me back just as much! -just kidding, I know they do! [wow, that does sound selfish]
Thanks for reading, until next time :),
Lexi xx !
