New Mockingjay Teaser Trailer!!!

As soon as I have seen the teaser I decided to share this very exciting moment with everyone! Until now we have got to Capitol announcements, and now a very very exciting teaser trailer.

I will not analyse every single scene because I will let you draw conclusions for yourself. However, I must say that the whistled song at the end never ceases to give me goose flesh.

I have nothing to say about this teaser. It pretty much shows what the book said. It is very well constructed and it is very convincing from a first look.

Despite the fact that I love how the teaser looks, I still cannot understand how they will replace the late Philip Seymour Hoffman, seeing that his character is very important in the third installment. Maybe they think that they can kill his character in the second part, which would be very convenient for them, but they better not do that because I will not be held responsible for my actions. Hehe.

Now please enjoy the new teaser trailer and the little videos from the Capitol and let me know what you thought of them.

So? What do you think? This movie has a great potential! I bet it will be a blockbuster!!

Until next time, may the odds be ever in your favor,

Lexi xoxoxoxo!

The Imitation Game- New Trailer

Dearest reader,

Here’s the new trailer for ‘The Imitation Game’, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Keira Knightley, Matthew Goode, and Mark Strong. A new movie set during World War II.

Now, I don’t only find the premise amazing, but I also think that this is a killer cast!!!

Sadly I have yet to find someone who will go with me to the cinema to see this potential masterpiece. Apparently, my friends do not think movies based on history and wars are ‘cool’, but I’ll be positive and hope that I will find someone until November.

Now, please enjoy this trailer of a film that seems to have huge potential.

Hope you liked it,

Until next time, many kisses,

Lexi xoxo.

P.S. It seems that we will have many great movies at the end of this year.

Bones!!! Yes!!!

Hey there,

I just wanted to rave about my latest find. Bones. What? Oh no, no, no. I didn’t find some bones, I found the TV series called Bones.

I know that this show is approximately nine years old, but until now I didn’t have the guts to watch it. After I finished watching Castle everybody suggested that I should watch Bones, but I was very uncertain if I would like it, but now I realize that I should have started it sooner because it is perfect.

I have to admit that at times I still find it gruesome. It took me about 5 episodes to get used to it but even now I am squeamish at some moments.

Now, I am at season three and I have watched season two in one and a half days and I am ready to watch some more. By the way, season two is much better than the first one, so if you still have doubts about it, give it time, I promise it gets amazing!

This show, has definitely entered my top 5 favorite tv shows. It is purely genius!!!! I beat myself for not watching it earlier. Basically it has absolutely everything I search in a show.

The characters are amazing. Booth is charming as hell and Brennan a.k.a. Bones is so geeky cute. And obviously you cannot not love Zack, Hodgins and Angela. Also, the chemistry between the characters it is undeniable, a perk that is kind of hard to find in a tv show.

All in all, what I’m trying to say is that all of you should give it a try, because if I can watch it, I’m sure you can too. However, if you already saw it, please let me know what you thought of it, but don’t spoil me, please! I already know a huge spoiler and I hate that I know!!!

This show, seems to have it all! And I am not complaining!

Until next time, keep safe,
Lexi xoxo

New TV Show- The Flash- Pilot Episode

I was having a chilled night at home, and decided that I wanted to watch something, opening my usual TV Series streaming link, I see that they have the pilot episode for THE FLASH! Of course, the fangirl in me went crazy and loaded it the next second.

If you didn’t know, The Flash is a new TV Series, from the producers of Arrow-another amazing show. Arrow and Flash, were created as Comic books at first, after which they decided to make these TV Series, and with a bit of luck we could get a movie with a lot of these superheroes.  I unfortunately have never read a DC Comic book, or any comic book for that matter. [I believe that out there are animated cartoons with the DC heroes and other movies, but I might be wrong.]

The TV Series is programmed to come out this October. However, they released the pilot episode yesterday for some reason. Not that I am complaining.

From the very beginning I had goose flesh because I was having huge expectations from the show, and I was not let down at all!

The pilot really manages to mess with the viewers mind, in such a way that they know for sure that you just have to come back this October to watch the next episode.

The CGI [computer generated imagery-or special effects] , in my opinion is perfectly realized. I of course, saw probably all the superhero movies recently released by Marvel, so I can say that I can spot bad CGI.

As for the actors, I can only tip my hat to the producers. Every freaking actor is perfect [especially the actor playing the main character] for their role, and it also does not hurt that they are easy on the eyes :D. As a girl, I can confirm that once again, every actor is beautiful.

As far as characters go, they seem to have a good base. And what I mean by that is that they have a good story line behind them. In the first episode we are introduced with Barry Allen’s  past. Well, not much of it, but enough to give us a sense of his past. And also, it shows how he becomes this super human. In the pilot we also are faced with some villains. I want to say something about someone, but that will spoil your view and I will restrain myself, but after I’ve seen the ending, I wanted to yell I KNEW IT! [BTW, with that ending, they will make sure that you come back in October to see why and what is going on- to be honest, I was confused as well.]

Just as Arrow, the plot of the new TV Series The Flash, manages to keep you on the edge of your seat. Of course, for those who read the comic books it might not come as a surprise, but for those “noobs” like me, is very enticing.

Another thing that reminds me of Arrow after watching this episode is the humor. Throughout the episode I found a couple of moments where I could just hear myself laugh out loud. There were not many moments as such, but I really think that the series will have its dose of humor.

Besides the humor, there were also some emotional scenes. I don’t want to give anything away, but I wanted to highlight the fact that this series will not only be fun and action packed, it probably will also be an emotional roller coaster, which is amazing! A series that manages to have so many elements combined, is sure to be a success.

I do not regret spending 47 minutes of my life watching The Flash. It is definitely one of the better choices I made this week. However, I wish October wouldn’t be so far away. But with this pilot, the creators really managed to capture my attention and they made me make a note in my calendar for when the next episode is out. I really think this show will be a hit!

I recommend it to everyone! I mean, if you love an action packed, humorous and also emotional TV Show, this is for you! I knew I would like it even before I even saw this episode, but now, I am sure that everyone that likes to spice their lives with a bit of fantasy will love this series!

Here is the extended trailer for the show [I couldn’t find the short one, but I am sure that you will enjoy this as well]. Enjoy!

I was not paid to make this review. I just saw the pilot and wanted to express my honest opinion on it. I felt the need to mention this, so that my review won’t be taken down for no reason.

Until next time, stay safe,

Lexi xoxo!!!

The Academy Awards 2014

As any person feeling under the weather, that has a day off of school and that day happens to be right before the Oscars, I hugged the opportunity of seeing the famous award show, LIVE from the comfort of my bedroom.

Usually, on a school night, I wouldn’t be allowed to watch any kind of awards LIVE because of the huge time difference between where I live and Hollywood, but I got my folks permission to watch them at the ridiculous our of 2AM until 6AM because I am really ill at the moment so I have the Monday off of school.
I am gradually writing this post as the show goes on. I really don’t want to miss anything that popped out to me during the show. So, I am writing this intro before the shows even started, because I want to have this post posted as soon as I can have it written.

On this beautiful Sunday, I drove my mom crazy with everything that means the Oscars. I just couldn’t shut up about how excited I was to see them LIVE and all that jazz.

A usual question that would follow is “Who do you hope will win?”. Well obviously, my favorite actor that I wish to  FINALLY get his well deserved Oscar is none other than Leo DiCaprio. Surprised? I didn’t think so. I really think that Leo is a favorite of the audience for many years, and I think that we all agree that his performance in The Wolf of Wall Street was maybe one of his best yet, but even so I feel like Matthew McConaughey is a favorite in this category.

My expectations for tonight are quite simple: Ellen to be her usual funny self and for Leo to get that damn Oscar. And yep, that’s pretty much it…

From here on I will document everything that I found interesting, beautiful, annoying and exciting during the show :D. Before I forget to mention it, I am “documenting” everything in my time table and everything I say is according to the streams I have found, so please don’t be too confused, lol! So here we go…

  • 12.05 AM:  The Red Carpet LIVE stream works but nothing interesting is to see.
  • 12.20AM: People are shouting but I am not sure why…also no one interesting appeared on the carpet yet.
  • 12.26AM: The MTV and VH1 stream finally has someone talking on the stream because it became a bit boring.
  • 12.28AM: Benedict Cumberbatch, Jennifer Lawrence and The Wolf of Wall Street are mentioned, talking about excitement…
  • 12.38AM: Have 3 live streams opened, still nothing going on
  • 12.46AM: Just saw an interview with the chef that made the food for the awards-am very hungry!
  • 01.08AM: Getting angry and tired of this…guess all the stars decided to arrive at the last minute; Viola Davis looks amazing!
  • 01.10AM: Cristin Milioti[the first wife of Leo in The Wolf of Wall Street] arrives on the RC, I love her dress!!!!
  • 01.14AM: Mads Mikkelsen arrives on the RC, surprised to see him…looks good-think he had a nice…dinner 😉
  • 01.16AM: Portia de Rossi looks amazing, great dress choice! bet she is proud of Ellen 🙂
  • 01.33AM: Kristen Bell also looks amazing, love her dress!
  • 01.39AM: Kellan Lutz arrives on the RC, he looks YUM! *.* -wearing a suit made out of recycled items
  • 01.42AM: Amy Adams- blue simple dress, very form fitting! loved it!
  • 01.44AM: Anna Kendrick, very chic dress, would have worked better without the slit IMHO.
  • 01.49AM: The bets are lost for those who said Lupita will wear purple, she chose a beautiful sky blue dress. My favorite of all up until now.
  • 01.54AM: Heard the paparazzi saying “Okay, okay, move along, we’ve seen you, go on already”, to a guy that was posing for the red carpet. More than rude…what do you expect from them?
  • 01.59AM: Joseph Gordon Levitt looks his usual great self!
  • 02.05AM: Drooling all over the screen because Jared Leto just arrived and he looks amazing!
  • 02.08AM: Harrison Ford arrived, he looks good for his age!
  • 02.11AM: Benedict Cumberbatch just won my heart…again! Loved his appearance. Hair looks *.*;as always.
  • 02.13AM: Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell just stepped on the carped…Goldie, you are a queen, but that dress…no..
  • 02.16AM: Jessica Biel looks FLAWLESS! love the dress choice!
  • 02.21AM: Michael Fassbander is a heartthrob as usual.
  • 02.22AM: Christoph Waltz, yes my friend, good fashion choice as usual.
  • 02.24AM: Matthew McConaughey arrives on the RC and looks delicious in his white tux!
  • 02.26AM: Charlize Theron, as per usual, breaks hearts with a gorgeous appearance!
  • 02.28AM: Chris Hemsworth is definitely drool worthy! As for his wife…sorry, but I’d fire that image consultant…
  • 02.29AM: Jennifer Lawrence makes her appearance, and not very late after that trips over her own feet on the red carpet. Looks okay in the Dior dress which looks similar to  Amy Adams’, but J Law definitely had better choices in the past.
  • 02.39AM: Spotted Leo DiCaprio and he looks amazing *.*.
  • 02.40AM: Anne Hathaway looks like she’s not aging, wouldn’t have chosen that dress though..
  • 02.43AM: Emma Watson looks GORGEOUS! I can’t  believe I didn’t notice how much I missed seeing her!
  • 02.45AM: All my streams crashed and I want to cry because I cannot find others.
  • 02.50AM: Seen on twitter that Lady Gaga made an appearance in a pink Versace gown…not crazy about it and not sure why she was invited…

After this fun and too long Red Carpet experience, I couldn’t  find any live stream for the actual award show, so I had to go to sleep. I will definitely watch them tomorrow night when the cut and edited version is aired on HBO.

Benedict Cumberbatch was a sweetheart and I couldn’t stop swooning when I listened to his interview. I am pretty sure that he will be a very big actor of his generation and will get his own Academy Awards statue.

A thing that I found repulsive was the way Pharell Williams attended the RC. I have been thought since I’ve been little that shorts are not an appropriate formal wear. Of course, there are many exceptions in Hollywood, but I still found his attire a bit offensive, or better said…inappropriate for such an important event.

All in all, I loved seeing all my favorite stars going down the Red Carpet and seeing interviews and so on. Though I wish The Academy Awards would have had thought about the people who do not live on the American continent and given us at least one live stream. I was pretty disappointed because I stayed up so late to watch this show and couldn’t because people are sometimes careless about situations like this.

When I woke up I was greatly disappointed to find out that Leo did not get his well deserved statuette. Even though I have to admit that Matthew McConaughey played an amazing role and deserved this award, I have to keep my previous opinion that Leo deserved it more…I guess everything is okay because the award went to another actor that I love and respect. Don’t worry Leo, maybe next time 😉 .

Hope you enjoyed my veeeeeeeeery long ramble about the Oscars, and I hope I din’t bore you…too much. Maybe I’ll do a short review of the actual award show as well. We’ll see.

Until next time, lots of hugs,

Lexi xxxxxxxx!

Movie review: “The Help”

As homework for my English class I had to review the movie The Help, and I liked it so much that I thought I’d post my review here as well. But as a bonus to my class review, I will add some thoughts that are a bit to personal to be added in a formal review. [And yes, I am ashamed to admit that I had to have a homework about it in order to watch this movie.]

My class task was to “point out the differences made between the skin colored people and the white population, based only on the movie”.

thehelpIn “The Help”, we are presented with one of the most important issues of our time. One that was fortunately resolved a long time ago—racial discrimination.

“The Help” does a great job at presenting on screen every part of the lives of the African-American maids during the civil rights movement of the 1960s.

In the movie, we see the effects of racial discrimination. The African-American women are treated like the lowest ranges of people and are believed to not be good for anything but to help around the house.

Everything is done separately. The African-American people went to different churches than the white race, and they lived in different parts of the city. They were even considered contagious and the southern white women had special bathrooms built where the black skinned maids could go to.

To everyone’s relief, Skeeter, a white young woman—raised by an African-American maid—wanted to help the maids get their story out into the world. She managed to gather a large group of maids that each told their story and then she wrote a book with all them put together under an anonymous name.

All in all, the adaptation of the novel “The Help” managed to put on the screen the very impressive and touching story of the lives of African-American people during the early 1960s. The way white people treated dark skinned people repulsed me and made me want to personally apologize to anyone that was discriminated against in one way or another because of their skin color.

I’ve actually given my review to a friend from Texas that lived in the 60s to proof read it.  And I found out some interesting things that I didn’t know and maybe no one could have told them to me.

Sure, I could tell that in the movie, the maids somehow indulge in this lifestyle that consists of living separately from the white people. But I thought that they tolerated it because they couldn’t endure more discrimination, but apparently they did it because they actually liked living in other parts of the city, and it still happens to this day.

Of course, I am in no position to judge or say what actually happened, but if it really were like this then why did not Hollywood make sure that would appear somehow in the movie. I know that The Help is made after a novel, but  even so, if the discrimination goes both ways, than why protect some and blame the others?

Again, I am not fit to judge what people do or say, but I don’t think is fair to either of the parts to put the blame on a part and victimize the other, because it could be the other way round, or even not like that at all.

The Help is a movie inspired after the novel with the same name, so I don’t know if in the novel is said “Based on a true story”, but if does, than I would have liked to hear both parts points of view.

Now please don’t hate me for this, but it was what I thought after I heard what my friend had to say about the movie.

Until next time,
Lexi :)! xxxxx

P.S. Even though I had some negative comments about the movie’s accuracy to details and information, I really enjoyed it. All the actors did a tremendous job, the script was very nicely made so you wouldn’t lose interest in the movie at any time, and the way it was filmed and the chromatics were much more than I expected.

To Be Watched List while ago I made a list of movies, that I really want to watch or rewatch.  So I decided to write it down because I have many friends that ask me what movie they should watch and I send them my ‘to be watched’ list. Movie review “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire”

Plot summary:

A year after winning the 74th Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen and her partner, Peeta Mellark must go on what is known as the Victor’s Tour wherein they visit all the districts. But before leaving, Katniss is visited by President Snow who fears that Katniss defied him a year ago during the games when she chose to die with Peta. With both Katniss and Peeta declared the winners, it is fueling a possible uprising. He tells Katniss that while on tour she better try to make sure that she puts out the flames or else everyone she cares about will be in danger. But unfortunately she fails to do that. So Snow decides to enact what is known as the Quarter Quell, the right to make a change to the Hunger Games, which he is allowed to do every 25 years. He decides to hold an edition of the Hunger Games wherein previous winners will compete again. Their mentor Haymitch thinks their best chance to survive is form an alliance with some of the others. They decide to align themselves with Finnick and his partner, Mags. But Snow is secretly hoping Katniss will be killed.

My review:

I am trying to not give out anything big that happens in the movie, meaning that I am trying to proof my review from any spoilers.

I am just going to say that I thought it was better than the first movie, and I wasn’t expecting this at all. I wish I have gone to see it sooner, and also I wish I would have gotten to write this review sooner. I saw this movie on the 30th of November, so I am reaaaallyy late with my review and I bet that by now you can see the movie online, but oh well…

I honestly don’t have much to say about it other than that I loved it, and it left me speechless. I went to see it with a friend that didn’t see the first part, but she liked it a lot, and promised to watch the first movie as well.

I have not read the books, but I am planning to in the near future because the movie was really enticing, just like the first one actually. I sat on the edge of my seat the whole time, and I wanted to cry when it ended. I wish it would have lasted longer…At least I am happy to know that Mockingjay Part 1 is being filmed as I write this post.

The characters were veeery nicely interpreted by Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland and many others. These were the ones that held the action alive-obviously- and that were the most charismatic in my opinion.

Also I hated not knowing who will Katniss end up with! I really need to read the books, because between Peeta and Gale I cannot choose, and I’d like to know how the author planned their fates before I see Mockingjay at the cinema.

The cinematography was absolutely beautiful, it sometimes still amazes me what can be done on a computer. The CGI was very nicely done and the details were amazing. Also, the costumes of the characters were very beautiful and complex, and I cannot wait to read the book to make my own image of them and see if they are how I imagined them.

And do not get me started about the plot. It was absolutely flawless, and very well thought. I bet in the books it is so much better, but this will have to do for now. I really liked the flow of it, it had a really nice continuity, and everything made sense put together. 😀

I really liked “Hunger Games” but “Catching Fire” definitely is better. I hardly can wait until Mockingjay Part 1 so I can see if it beats “Catching Fire” or not.

Definitely go and see this movie if it still is at your local cinema, and if not, watch it online or buy the DVD and watch it at home with your family and friends.

Rating: 5 out of 5

Until next time, stay tight,

Lexi xxxxxxxx! 🙂

New upcoming movie “Maleficent”

OKAY!! SO,I  just had to make a really quick post about this because I am sooo excited about this new movie.

I always liked the villains in movies more than the heroes, because I just think they have a more tragic back story. In other words, I think villains are misunderstood and maybe need a story told from their perspective.

And here comes the news:
Disney has come up with this new movie called “Maleficent” and the main character-Maleficent- is played by Angelina Jolie, and of course the secondary character in the movie is Sleeping Beauty/Aurora played by Elle Fanning!  Couldn’t be more happy about that because we all know what amount of talent Angie possesses and I am 100% sure that she will make a killer movie -pun not intended? 😀 Also, the Fanning sisters proved us that they have some talent themselves.

I loved the teaser trailer, it didn’t tell much  but it definitely said enough to make me want to go to see the movie! Angelina’s laughter at the end gave me goosebumps. And she just managed to portrait the character and its personality very well in those two short frames in which she appeared…*sigh* I don’t have enough praise words for her! Also lets not forget that her and Brad’s daughter, Vivienne, will play 3 year old Aurora!!!

Really short ramble today, not even planned or anything, that’s why it might have some mistakes or might look so hectic, but I just couldn’t help but write about this upcoming movie, seeing that it has a great potential :D.

Until next time, with a possibly longer ramble,

Lexi xx!

P.S. It is a fan made poster [not mine] and the movie comes out in May 2014, not March!

P.P.S. I know I am a bit late with the news, but I just saw them myself :).

Movie review “The Green Mile”

the-green-mile-originalThe Green Mile is a 1999 American drama film with the main stars Tom Hanks, Michael Clarke Duncan, David Morse, Michael Jeter and many others. Written and directed by Frank Darabont adapted from Stephen King’s novel with the same name.

Paul Edgecomb is a veteran prison guard and is in charge of death row  called The Green Mile, in a 1935 Louisiana penitentiary. When huge new inmate, John Coffey, convicted of the rape and murder of two young sisters, is taken to the prison Edgecomb is in charge of, things are about to change in the small death row. Despite his powerful build, Coffey is gentle-and possesses a miraculous, mysterious power to heal.

The Green Mile is a movie of emotions, a movie that leaves a life lasting experience and above all a movie that keeps you involved in till the very end. I could not tear myself away from the screen from the moment the movie started until it ended.

This movie brought me to tears. For me this was one of the most compelling films I have seen in a long time. This movie is thought provoking and extremely sad. The plot was magnificently put on the screen by Frank Darabont and the acting is magnificent and I am sure that it manages to touch the heart of every viewer. Also, the acting is definitely amazing, done by a cast that could not be better chosen; the amount of talent the cast combines is absolutely epic and I think that this has a huge impact over the emotional state of the viewer as well.

I would thoroughly recommend The Green Mile to anyone that watches films because they want to be transported to another time and another place and be emotionally sucked in, then this will hold your attention from start to finish and will also have you in tears by the end of it.

At first this was a homework for my English class, but this movie impressed me so much that I had to share the review! I honestly do recommend it with all my heart, it is indeed one of the most compelling films I’ve seen in a long time, and I am not saying this just for the sake of the review. I cried so much that I was sobbing by the end of the movie…I told you this so you could understand how much this movie affected me emotionally! After you’ve seen this movie I would recommend you to see The Shawshank Redemption.

I cannot wait to buy the book  and read it. Again, I am disappointed in myself for two things. First, not watching the movie until now, ’cause God knows, it was on TV so many times and I watched only small parts of it. And secondly I am again disappointed of seeing the movie before reading the book…but oh well.

I hope you enjoyed my short ramble about this masterpiece!

Until next time,

Lexi xx !
